The Siguniang (Four Sisters) Mountain National Scenic Spots is located in Siguniang Shan Town, Xiaojin County, Aba Autonomous Prefecture of Tibetan and Qiang Minority, Sichuan Province. It is composed of four continuous peaks, adjacent to Wolong National Nature Reserve. It belongs to Qionglai mountain range of Qinghai Tibet Plateau, 220 km away from Chengdu.
Siguniang Shan is steep with a sweep of modern glaciers. 52 peaks over 5000 meters above sea level are covered with snow all year round. The main peak - Yaomei Feng (the youngest sister), with 6250 meters above sea level is the highest peak in Qionglai mountains and the second highest peak in Sichuan Province, it is known as the “queen of Sichuan's peaks”. Because of its unique landscape of snow peaks, forests, pastures, rivers and Tibetan houses, it is also reputed as "the Alps of the East". As a part of the giant panda’s habitat, Siguniang Mountain was included in the world heritage list as a world natural heritage in July 2006.
We have two and a half days to walk in the Shuangqiaogou-, Changpinggou- and Haizigou Valley of Siguniang mountain to enjoy the beauty of nature. There are also opportunities to enjoy the spectacular sunset and sunrise of Siguniang mountain. On the way back to Chengdu from Siguniang mountain, we can have a close look at the cute pandas at the Shenshuping Giant Panda Base in Wolong.
