Day02 Chengdu – Yinxiu – Taoping – Ma'erkang BLD After breakfast, drive to visit Yinxiu County – epicenter of Wenchuan earthquake in 2008.Then drive through the Chengdu plain to Taoping, a Qiang People's stocked villagefake watches. The ancient Taoping village has a great appeal for the numerous experts and tourists with its old and wonderful fortress buildings. Day03 Ma'erkang – Rangtang BLD Today we will drive to Rangtang. En route visit of the Stone Sculpture at Songgang. And visit of Zengke Monsatery. Arrival in Rangtang, check in your hotel. 1N at 2*Rangtang Hotel
Day04 Rangtang BLD Today we visit Rangtang (Dzamthang) Monatsery, the chief institution of the Jonangpa order. Then drive to the nearby Nyingmapa lamasery Bangtuo. Bangtuo Si was already famous for the throngs of choerten built from the 17th century up to 1910. The oldest of the Bangtuo choerten was built in 1618 and shelters a small number of 17th century murals. 1N at 2*Rangtang Hotel
Day05 Rangtang – Sethar – Garze BLD Drive via Sethar (Seda) to Garze (Ganzi), the real cultural and religious center for the Tibetans living in Sichuan. At Sethar, we will drive to visit the Wara Monastery and Wu Ming Buddhist College. Located in the valley about 20km away from Sethar downtown, the Buddhist College is the biggest Vajrayana Buddhist College in the world. In Tibetan "Garze" means "white and beautiful", named after the famous temple in the county. 1N at simple Golden Yak Hotel
Day06 Garze –Yilhun Lhatso – Chola Pass – Dege BLD In the morning, visit of Garze monastery of yellow sect (Gelug). The temple was built in 1552. Then pass by Manigango to visit Xinlu Hai Lake (Yilhun Lhatso), located at the foot of Chola Mountain (Que'er Shan). It is 4040 meters over sea level, with an average depth of 10 meters and a maximum depth of 15 meters. There are plateau spruces, firs, Chinese weeping cypresses, azalea trees and meadows around the lake. It is also a preserve for wild animals like white-lipped deer. Day07 Dege BLD In the morning visit of the Dege Printing House which has always been well reputed as the "Cultural Treasury at the Foot of the Snow Mountain". It is the biggest printing house in Tibetan area. Another program is the visit of the Dege Gonchen, meaning "big temple", a monastery of Sakya sect. It was built in 1448, today about 300 monks live there. We'll visit a hospital of Tibetan Traditional Medicine.
Day08 Dege – Pelyul BLD Today drive along the Golden Sand River (Jinsha Jiang) the upper reaches of Yangtze to Pelyul (Baiyu). Pelyul is a small beautiful city by the river Ding Chu. Upon arrival visit Pelyul Monastery (Baiyu Si) nearby the county seat. This famous Nyingma Sect monastery had played a great role in history and held many subsidiary temples. 1N at simple Shaluli Hotel
Day09 Pelyul – Garze BLD Leave for Garze via Haizi Shan Pass (4237 m). On arrival at Garze, check in your hotel and have a rest. 1N at simple Golden Yak Hotel
Day10 Garze – Xinlong – Litang BLD Drive to Litang via Xinlong along Yalong River. Litang is also known as "highland city". Arrival, visit of Litang monastery lying in the western suburbs of the city. The monastery was originally under the control of the Bon religion but converted into a Gelug Sect monastery in 1580 in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) by the third Dalai Lama. During the first week of August (01.08. - 07.08.), every year, a grand horse-racing festival takes place on the vast Maoya Grassland here. 1N at simple Litang Hotel
Day11 Litang – Yajiang – Xinduqiao – Tagong Si – Bamei – Danba BLD Today we will go to Danba via Xinduqiao, Tagong Si, and Bamei. Drive along Hengduan Montain Ranges from south to north. Enjoy the beautiful glacier, ice-covered mountains, highland lakes. Xinduqiao is a small but important town at the juncture of the North and South Sichuan-Tibet Highway. If the weather allows, we can explore the main peak of Mt Gongga (7556m). Then transfer to visit the Tagong Si (Tagong Monastery), where you can have a panorama of holy Yala Mountain (5820m) in a distance, on fine days. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Danba. 3N at 3*318 Hotel
Day12 Danba BLD Danba is claimed to be the Kingdom of Thousands of Ancient Blockhouses. Today hiking from Zhonglu village to Suopo village, visit the ancient block towers in Suopo. They were made of clay and block and look fine from outside with solid thick walls.
Day13 Danba – Luding – Ya'an In Danba, the local people are called Jiarong (Gyarong) Tibetans. Visit of Jiaju. Village. More than one hundred buildings keep the same architectural style with a complete and unique character of Jiarong Tibetan residences. Under the blue sky, the Tibetan residences decorated in red, white and black are strewed at random but also in order from the bottom to the middle slope of the valley. Then drive to Ya'an via Luding. 1N at 4*Beite Moon and Star Hotel
Day14 Ya’an – Chengdu BLD After breakfast, drive to visit Shangli ancient town, an ink and wash painting in the countryside. Then transfer to visit the Panda base in Bifengxia Gorges. In the afternoon, drive back to Chengdu along Chengdu-Ya’an Highway. 1N at 4*Holiday Inn Express Wuhou
Day15 Leave Chengdu B Spare time without guide and driver. Check out before 12:00a.m. and drive to the airport and catch your flight homeward. End of our services.
